Windows 10’s Search app should properly work now on your PC
KB5028244 brings some important quality updates to Windows 10.

Even though Windows 10’s current version is also its last version, the beloved operating system won’t reach end-of-support soon. It’s going to happen, though, in October 2025. So if you’re still using Windows 10, don’t worry. Microsoft got you covered, now.
Aside from the July Patch Tuesday updates that Windows 10 received two weeks ago, Microsoft released a patch, KB5028244, which comes with some major quality updates.
It seems Windows 10’s Search app has been causing some problems, every time someone would use it. Not every Windows 10 user experienced the issue, but it seems the Search app would open in full screen. It would also block additional Start menu actions, and, probably the most frustrating thing, you could not close it.
So Microsoft finally addressed the issue in this patch, and once you install it, your Search app should behave properly. The update also addressed some Windows Notification issues, and now you should receive all the notifications from apps in Windows 10. And, if you’re having problems with your VPN connections, this patch should fix that too.
