Have you thought that this day would still be coming or have you just lost hope? If you continued to believe that it could one day be possible, well, you were absolutely right.

As you know, if you are an Instagram user, you could only create and upload posts using your mobile device, not your PC. Well, all that is about to change now, with the new update designed for Windows 10.

Start creating your Instagram posts from your PC

So, to summarize a bit, the famous Windows 10 Instagram app received an update earlier today, that finally gave users the ability to create photo and video posts from their PCs.

As sad as it was, until now, the Instagram app could only be used for watching posts and going through Instagram Stories.

This new feature, that got everyone so excited, features most of the popular filters and a variety of basic aspect ratio and color options available.

Also, it goes without saying that, same as with phones or tablets, users can also add multiple files to a post if they so desire.

There is a bit of a downside in all this. For the time being, support for creating Instagram Stories, as well as livestreams isn’t available, though it wouldn’t amazing to one day find out that both of these features are on the way.

In order to actually create an Instagram post from your PC, all you have to do is:

  1. Download the Instagram app from the Microsoft Store.
  2. Install the Instagram app.

3. Open the app and register or login, if you already have an account.

4. On the top right corner of your screen, tap the plus button, which adds new content such as stories or posts.

5. Customize your post with filters and other elements.

6. Hit Post.

Instagram came a long way since it’s birth

If you remember, Instagram debuted as an app for Windows 10 PCs and tablets back in 2016, through an update for the already existing Windows phone app.

This beloved app was eventually replaced with a PWA version, which fully transitioned into the new app format back in April of this year.

Now, after all the tweaks and new additions, Instagram users can finally kick back and simply share their favorite content with other Instagrammers from around the world, via phone, tablet, or PC.

Even though some of the biggest and most popular social media platforms are owned by the same companies, the competition is still tight.

Remember that Instagram still competes with Tik Tok and Facebook, even though the latter has consistently lost important percentages of its fanbase over the years.

So, a lot more reasons to be excited about, apart from the huge Windows 11 release event that Microsoft hosted yesterday.
