You’ll soon be able to reorder sidebar widgets on Edge
The feature is spotted in the Canary.
- Microsoft is reportedly working to bring a feature to let you reorder sidebar widgets.
- Now live on Edge Canary, the feature is hotly wanted by users for so long.
- Not too long ago, Microsoft also announced thumbnail options for the browser.
Do you often use Edge? If so, we’ve got some good news for you. Microsoft is actively working on addressing user requests in the latest testing phase of Edge Canary, the experimental version of the popular web browser. That feature is the ability to reorder the Sidebar widgets on Edge.
As spotted by a Windows enthusiast @Leopeva64, it is important to note that the feature is currently experiencing some bugs and may not be fully functional at this stage.
It’s been a long time coming for this hot-wanted feature. The decision to introduce the option to reorder Sidebar buttons comes in response to numerous user requests.
Also, according to the same insider, Edge’s Sidebar is also expected to have extension support in the near future. While evidence of this feature is present, it is not yet functional, preventing a demonstration at this time.
This is particularly valuable in cases where certain widgets are used more frequently and, as a result, require placement at the top of the sidebar for quick and easy access.
What does this mean for Edge users?
In the pursuit of offering a more personalized browsing experience, Microsoft’s commitment to listening to user feedback and implementing requested features like Sidebar button reordering demonstrates its dedication to meeting the needs and preferences of its users.
Recently, we’ve also learned about an upcoming feature in Edge that will allow users to bring thumbnails to their Favorite hub.
This feature provides three size options for the thumbnails: small, medium, and large. This addition aims to enhance the visual experience and customization options for users accessing their favorite websites and content through the Favorite Hub in Edge.
With that being said, as previously mentioned, it is important to take into consideration that this particular feature is exclusively available for insiders. As a result, it is crucial to acknowledge that being in the testing phase, there is a possibility that errors and glitches may still be present.
