Just like what Microsoft did by introducing the Copilot AI assistant tool for all Office 365 apps, Redmond officials also have something for PowerPoint web app users. Not too long ago, those users have a feature that lets them insert a video into their presentations.

A part of the Microsoft Office suite, which includes other popular productivity applications like Word, Excel, and Outlook, PowerPoint is widely used in business, education, and various other fields to create visually appealing and interactive slide-based presentations.

While PowerPoint users have been able to insert videos from popular online platforms like YouTube, Vimeo, and Stream, there are times when the perfect video for your presentation is one that you’ve created yourself. Sure, incorporating your videos can add a personal touch and authenticity to your presentations.

In this step-by-step guide, we will walk you through the process of adding your videos to PowerPoint for web presentations. With this feature, you can seamlessly integrate your custom videos into your slides, further enhancing your ability to convey your message and engage your audience.

How to insert videos in PowerPoint web app

1. Open a PowerPoint presentation

2. Click on the Insert tab and select Video followed by Video from device option.

3. In the video menu, locate the Video from device command and click on it.

4. Next, choose the desired video file and click the Open button. This action will insert the selected video onto your slide. Make sure that the video is in the .mp4 video file format and under 256 MB for a better experience.

5. Once the video is inserted and visible on the slide, you have the flexibility to adjust its position by moving it, resizing it as needed, and even applying shape effects to enhance its visual presentation.

With that being said, however, this feature is only available to all PowerPoint web users. But, don’t fret if you still aren’t able to access this yet. Sometimes, Microsoft rolls out features to a smaller number of insiders before general availability, so, patience is a virtue.
